Producer Shailendra Singh, who had earlier ‘gifted’ the title Singh Is Kinng to Akshay Kumar and fellow producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, is back at planning his passionate project – Singh Is Kinng 2. As per a media report, the producer has made up his mind and the initial work has begun on converting the romantic-comedy into a franchise, with the second part rolling next year. But, to the fans’ disappointment, he is not thinking about getting Akshay Kumar back for the second part.
The much-anticipated sequel to the 2008 blockbuster Singh Is Kinng has stirred excitement and debate within Bollywood circles. Producer Shailendra Singh recently confirmed that Singh Is Kinng 2 is in development, but the film will move forward without Akshay Kumar, who brought the beloved character of Happy Singh to life in the original. This decision has left fans divided, with many expressing disappointment over Akshay’s absence, while others are intrigued by the possibility of a fresh approach to the franchise.
A sequel to the beloved 2008 action-comedy ‘Singh is Kinng’ is set to begin production in 2025, with Ranveer Singh and Diljit Dosanjh emerging as the leading contenders for the lead role. The original film, which starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, remains a fan favorite. Filmmaker Shailendra Singh has now confirmed that work on the sequel has started. In an exciting reveal, he shared that both Ranveer and Diljit are at the top of his list to headline ‘Singh is Kinng 2’, raising anticipation for what promises to be an action-packed follow-up.
