As she gears up for the release of her upcoming horror film Maa, the actress shared her candid and hilarious take on the idea of a Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai sequel—revealing why some love stories are better left untouched.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge remain two of Kajol’s most iconic films. In a time in Bollywood when sequels like Gadar 2 and Bhool Bhulaiya 2 are becoming massive hits, and Dostana 2 and Dhadak 2 are generating immense buzz, will there be sequels to KKHH and DDLJ as well? Kajol opines that these sequels are not needed.
Kajol, who will soon be seen in the horror film Maa, is known for starring in some of the biggest hits of the 1990s; films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. While these films are still loved by fans, Kajol is of the opinion that they don’t need a sequel. In a recent interview, Kajol said that it is often suggested to her that they should make a sequel to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where her and Shah Rukh Khan’s characters fall in love again, but she doesn’t like the idea much. She also said that she doesn’t wish to know what happened after her character, Simran, boarded the train scene in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’s last scene.
