Sandali Sinha was one of the promising actresses of her era. Hailing from Bihar, she was born to an Air Force family and later relocated to Delhi following her father’s demise. There, she refined her acting skills before shifting to Mumbai for better career opportunities. In 1997, Sandali Sinha began her television career with a role in the TV series Tanha. Later, she appeared in short films and advertisements. In 2000, renowned Bollywood director Anubhav Sinha was working on a music video and cast Sandali for a role. Impressed by her performance, Anubhav Sinha decided to produce a musical film with her thereafter.Her breakthrough came with the late 90s music video Deewana, featuring Sonu Nigam. Then, in 2001, she made her Bollywood debut in Tum Bin and became an overnight sensation. Touted to be a romantic drama, Tum Bin also starred Priyanshu Chatterjee. Written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film was a huge hit at the box office.

Following the success of Tum Bin, Sandali Sinha struggled to get main roles in movies. In 2003, she acted in the film Om. After that, she played smaller parts in films like Pinjar and Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. When asked why she wasn’t getting main roles, Sandali said, “Because I don’t do flattery.”

Sandali Sinha made her Telugu debut with Orey Pandu in 2005. Since her movies didn’t do well, she stopped getting good offers. After getting married in 2005, she chose to spend time with her family. She last appeared in the 2007 film Main Ronee Aur Jony. Later, she starred in a small role in Tum Bin II in 2016.
Sandali got married to businessman Kiran Salaskar in 2005. They have two children and currently reside in Mumbai. Kiran Salaskar is an entrepreneur who serves as the founder and CEO of Country of Origin. Alongside, he holds the position of Director at IEHPL. Reports suggest his net worth is approximately Rs 150 crore. Sandali also helps her husband in managing the business. However, instead of captalising on this film, Sandali did very few films in her acting career. Recently in a tete-a-tete with Hindustan Times, Sandali opened up on her journey in films and what kept her away from taking up more films. Recalling how she had bagged her debut film Tum Bin, Sandali shared with Hindustan Times, “It all was natural, being in the entertainment industry. I started off as a model, worked in TV for a year, then starred in music videos with Anubhav (Sinha, filmmaker) and his wife Ratna. When they were making their debut film, everything just fell into place. It wasn’t really a struggle and I wasn’t looking out to become an actor.”
